The Lima Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that took place in Lima overnight. 26 year old Markese Davis of Lima was the victim in the incident that happened in the 800 block of St. Johns Avenue.More details will be released as it becomes available.

The state fire marshal's office says debris was found a half-mile away from an explosion that destroyed a doctor's office in LoganCounty last night...
Investigators say the blast in Bellefontaine also caused a van parked nearby to roll over onto its side...
There were no injuries reported...But- the blast did close a portion of U-S 68 in LoganCounty...
The fire marshal's office said in a statement that it's still too early to speculate the exact cause of the explosion- which destroyed a former single-family home which served as a doctor's office...###

More medical tests are on the way for a HancockCounty woman who killed her own mother in a bizarre attack last year...
The lawyer for Linda Brown says tests still have not determined if Brown was sane during the attack...Brown is also facing charges of attacking her girlfriend...
When the tests are finalized- a trial date will be determined...###

A recent series of community meetings found that you want more cooperation from the Lima Police Department and Allen County Sheriff’s Office.Today Sheriff Dan Beck said that you may not always see it, but the two organizations do work together, and the sheriff’s office does a lot of work in Lima, saying that often times those aren’t newsworthy events, so you don’t hear about them.
The Sheriff’s Office accepted grant money for the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force today.Beck says that the majority of the work the group does is in Lima, and that he’d like to see Lima Police Officers back on the force.

The accused shooter in Lima’s second homicide of the year was in the Allen County Common Pleas Court today.A pretrial hearing for Tony Curtis Jr. saw him waive his right to a speedy trial, meaning that his jury trial is now scheduled for late September instead of early August.
Curtis’ lawyers argued that they needed more time to review evidence.They also filed a motion for a change of venue, citing extensive media coverage that the drive by shooting has gotten.Judge Jeffery Reed said he would rule on that at a later date.

A double roll-over accident in PutnamCounty sent four people to the hospital last night.Emergency crews were called to an intersection near Continental, at State Routes 15 and 613 around 7 p.m.Officials say an eastbound car failed to stop, running into a southbound SUV and sending both vehicles onto their roofs.
The driver of the SUV, 17-year-old Miranda Boecker was taken to St. Rita's MedicalCenter, as was the driver of the car, 52-year-old Wanda Pittman.11-year-old Jasmine Thomas was also in the car and taken to St. Rita's.43-year-old Deanna Shelva was a passenger with Pittman as well, she was taken to an ambulatory care center.
